Congregation Pledge

 

 

Rhode Island Interfaith Power & Light has a simple goal: to encourage faith-based stewardship of Creation by promoting energy conservation, energy efficiency, and clean, renewable energy production. This ministry intends to protect the earth’s atmosphere and its ecosystems, safeguard public health, and ensure sufficient, sustainable and affordable energy for all.

 

As a spiritual leader(s) of ____________________, I/we pledge to support the goals of Rhode Island Interfaith Power & Light in doing one or more of the following:

 

Check ONE OR MORE of the following that best match your Congregation’s goals.

 

o    Engage in an ongoing process of education within our Congregation concerning environmental stewardship, energy production and usage in relation to global climate change.

 

o    Conduct an energy audit of our buildings to identify sources of energy waste and potential financial savings from energy-related improvements.

 

o    Make energy efficiency improvements to our Congregation’s buildings.

 

o    Utilize renewable energy by purchasing green power, installing solar panels, or contributing to a wind turbine fund.

 

o    Analyze, reduce and offset our greenhouse gas emissions with the goal of becoming a non-polluting Congregation.

 

o    Support public policies that contribute to these goals.

 

o    Make some financial or in-kind donation of time or assistance to RI-IPL.
